A few weeks ago, it was announced that the Member of the Month Award (MOTM) was going away. At that time, it was also announced that a new award would be developed to take its place.
Today, I’m pleased to announce the Impending Doom eXecutioner award. The IDX award will be delivered to those members that go out of their way to assist in the further growth of the clan. Members that are off of probation will be eligible for this award.
What is the difference between IDX and the MOTM award?
IDX awards can be handed out at any time with no set interval or amount of “receipts” (basically you can win this award multiple times).
IDX winners will be entered into a larger contest that will fall every year during the “birth” of the clan, September. This contest will allow for that member to win a bigger award and therefore keep them interested in helping the clan throughout the year. The more you receive an IDX award, the more chances you will have to win in September.
IDX winners will receive a customized “unique” board signature recognizing their achievement.
The ID eXecutioner award will be a nomination based award that will allow for individuals to nominate potential candidates. This will encourage you to treat your fellow clan members with respect and dignity, because you never know who will nominate you.
More details will be released in the coming days to specify exactly how this system will be implemented. Get your game face on and never forget, you could be the first IDX nominee.
As mentioned earlier this week, the ID_ Conference call about SOCOM was hosted this evening. The turnout was great and the planning was precise.
ID_ members should be sure to review the “finalized” game plan for spreading the beta across the clan. Thank you to everyone that is sharing codes and making this happen.
Tomorrow Thursday August 28, 2008 @ 9:30pm EST, ID_ will be having a conference call regarding our approach to the SOCOM Beta.
Please add ID_CLAN to your Skype contacts prior to the call. Download Skype for free here. If you do not have a USB headset, I will assign an individual with one to field “questions” from members. You will be able to hear the conference even if you do not have headset (speakers will output the conference audio).
This short and sweet conference (30 minutes) will detail out our approach to the beta. All members that are participating/hoping to participate should be present. A summary will be provided in the forums.
Its time for some clean-up around here. ID_ moves toward another successful gaming season.
With SOCOM: Confrontation, Gears of War 2, and Resistance Fall of Man 2 just around the corner, ID_ is getting ready to “clean-up” our rosters. Inactive members in game and in the boards will be removed from the clan and granted “member” status rather then the “clan” status that some may currently have.
With that being said, I’d like to prompt active members to log into “My Controls>Edit Profile Information” and update all of your contact info. Please be sure to provide accurate XBOX Gamer Tag, PSN ID, and any personal contact information (Don’t forget your SKYPE and AIM info). DO IT NOW SO YOU DON’T FORGET! Next weekend (8/30/2008), I will be running a new report to update a more robust “contact” sheet. I’d like all members that are active to be sure they have the most recent information on file. I will not be making changes after this run, and you will have to wait until my next run to display your “corrected” information.
We are doing this to prep for the new games that are on the horizon and we want to make sure that only the most active members are reflected in our rosters.
Big changes are coming to clan management, and this information will be utilized to hopefully make the overall clan experience more organized and more precise. Some of this information will be used to help organize “location” based rosters. This will help to accomodate our friends overseas as well as in different time zones.
ID_ wants to make the most of these tools to help bring the most fun possible to all of our members, no matter where you are…

Heading into it’s sixth year, ID_ is still around. Thats all “fine and dandy”, but what do our most active members think about the clan in its current state?
Well a week and a half ago I posted a poll that was up for about 4 days. This poll queried members anonymously on their feelings about the clan. Below you will find the results of the test.

To me here is how the test translates:
Many of our members are more then satisfied with the clan and are extremely optimistic about the future of ID_.
We have a few members that are on the fence about the clan, its leadership and the future of the clan.
To me this means we are doing well, especially since we have a few new things on the horizon for the clan.
As for the members that were “negative”, I honestly believe those members may not understand the clan completely. These members may just be “here” and not really involved with the clan on the same level as some of the dedicated members. These members will come and go, so I’m not really sure if they will ever be happy/satisfied.
I’m not sure how many of you have seen these results, but I figured it was a decent way to test the “morale” of the clan (today).
Many people have requested game nights… now its time to do it! This week ID_ will be hosting a series of game nights. Please be sure to make these a success!

There has been a mystique surrounding our MOTM award that seems to negate the award itself. Starting today the Member of the Month award is officially dead.
Starting at the end of August, ID_ will be introducing a new “member highlight” award. This award will be disclosed at the end of the month. Details and information surrounding how members can earn this award will also be given at that time.
